Williamsburg - James City County Recreational Center
Renovations/additions included creating a new front door, reception area for security and ease of circulation, and observation areas for the pool, gym, and other activities. Space was also developed for a variety of administrative functions including management and program staff work space. The active recreation area provides space for center programs and drop-in use for a variety of sports and fitness activities. An aerobics room and gymnasium with 3 full-sized courts and raised running track provide a variety of fitness venues. The wellness area provides facilities for an array of health and wellness services furnished by both the community and a private provider. These include outpatient services for cardiac and other injury rehabilitation and counseling and educational services for health related needs including weight-loss and diabetes. Other community-based services include centers for seniors, teens, child care, and an art room.
